The Passing of Sheikh Rami Dalati “Abu Hudhayfa,” Revolutionary Leader and Member of the Family Committee in Homs: "Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without measure." (Qur’an 39:10) With hearts faithful to God’s decree and destiny, the Dalati family committee in Homs, together with all members of the family, mourns the passing of Sheikh Dr. Rami Dalati “Abu Hudhayfa,” who departed this life in 2018 after a journey rich in scholarly, religious, and national contributions. Sheikh Rami was among the most prominent figures of contemporary Islamic thought in Syria, and one of the moderate voices that called for dialogue, rejected extremism, and emphasized reason and compassion in religious discourse. He held various academic and intellectual positions and was an active member of the Family Committee in Homs, where he helped build bridges of communication among relatives and supported cultural and social initiatives. He was known as an eloquent preacher, a thoughtful writer, a free thinker, and an activist in the Syrian revolution. He was among the first to support the peaceful popular movement, paying the price of his noble stances with his freedom and health, yet he remained steadfast in his principles until his last breath. Sheikh Rami has departed, but his impact endures in hearts and minds, and in all who knew him, read his works, or listened to him. We ask God to envelop him in His vast mercy, to place his deeds in the scale of his good works, and to grant patience and solace to his family and loved ones.
